“This year—our Semiquincentennial—is a milestone, indeed a monumental one. As I look back upon this great Republic, my heart swells to see the steadfast citizens of Wheaton and Warrenville. Your parades were a triumph! I must also commend the Tigers, the Falcons, and the fine middle school bands who played with such noble spirit. It was a genuine pleasure to return to Niles as well; the receptions I received there in days gone by were always warm, but believe it or not, this year's gathering was even more joyous. Finally, I must offer a special salute to the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, an independent, non-profit youth performing arts organization based out of Rosemont, Illinois. They are truly a class act, blowing through their brass with a vigor that could wake the very dead of our revolutionary ancestors!” 🎩🧔🏻‍♂️🇺🇸
